How to get to the University? Map

You can reach our University from the Chopin airport by a service 175 bus (Dworzec Centralny stop). After you get off go towards the Palace. The nearest metro station is Centrum or Świętokrzyska. The main entrance to the building is located at the side of Marszałkowska street. After you enter the Palace, go downstairs to a hall with lifts. Please use the side lifts, go to the 8th floor and room 832B, where the Foreign Cooperation Office is located.

How to move around Warsaw?

You can use public transport in Warsaw: trams, urban and suburban buses and metro.
Day transport (trams, buses) shuttle between 5:00 and 23:00, while night transport (night buses) between 23:00 and 5:00.

The main night services arrive in and depart from a bus stop at Dworzec Centralny railway station at the side of “Złote Tarasy” shopping centre. Night buses depart from that stop usually 15 and 45 minutes after any full hour.

Student ID

All students receive an ID that enables them to get 50% discount for public transport in the city and 37% discount for transport by Polish National Rail (the discount takes effect until 26 years of age). It also makes students eligible to use university libraries, sports and other objects, as well as to have discounts to cinemas, theatres and museums.

Living and Accomodation Costs:
 

  • If you are a disabled person, please inform us about that in advance, so that we can fully meet your requirements in terms of classes schedule, exams or accommodation.
  • If you are interested in helping Our College to find a place in a Student Hostel or a flat, please inform us about that 2 weeks before your arrival.

Living costs

Below we have presented several examples, in order to imagine what living costs a student incurs. The prices may differ according to city, but an average monthly living cost of a student in Poland is between 300 Euro and 600 Euro.

Accommodation

There are several possibilities of accommodation. Costs of renting depend on location and quality of accommodation, but monthly prices usually oscillate between 175 EUR to 250 EUR in student hostels or between 200 to 500 Euro in private apartments. In practice, international students rent and share larger apartments in the city centre. Rental prices in the centre can be slightly higher, but it is possible to lower costs and time for transport. Sharing of rental costs among friends can offers a possibility of finding inexpensive accommodation at an affordable price.

Insurance, medical assistance

Free medical assistance is available for students from the EU/ with valid medical insurance, passport, student card or European Medical Insurance Card from their home country. Europejskiej Karty Ubezpieczenia Zdrowotnego.

Students from other regions should buy an individual international medical insurance before they arrive. Otherwise they are obliged to sign a medical insurance with the National Health Fund and to pay a fee Narodowym Funduszu Zdrowia.

Within the insurance students are entitled to free medical care. Foreign students are also able to buy an accident insurance. For more information please contact: www.nfz.gov.pl

Students from other than EU countries are not entitled to medical care based on the European Medical Insurance Card. They bear the medical costs. However they can obtain a medical insurance in their own country before arrival.

Social life:

Warsaw as a capitol city offers not only touristic attractions but also a wide range of entertainment. Multiple thaetres, cinemas, museums and clubs are available. There are also many festivals and concerts: Chopin piano competition, the Warsaw film festival and Jazz Jamboree among others.
